So we've been frustrated in the last months as Stacy's boys and my friends have said, "Oh that stuff you make is so cute for girls *sigh* they just don't make cute stuff for boys." While we love making tu-tus and finding ultra-girly items, we still want to make good things for boys. Plus, I can't help but want there to be cute boy stuff, too. Don't our little men deserve cuteness?
So after wracking our brains a bit and cruising the web for ideas, we have completed two new projects we just KNOW will be a hit for boys: super-capes and draw-string bags.
Welcome!
Thanks for checking out our little corner of the web! This blog is all about showcasing our newest baby: Diviner Duds, a business all about creating practical quality products for babies on up. We craft, we embroider, and we create. Our goal is to make products others want. We won't make anything we wouldn't or don't already own and use! So go ahead and check us out.

Bag Bonanza
Check out our hot new quilted bags! They come in a variety of colors and styles. What a great way to start summer vacation. Or how about a new backpack for the little lady in your life for her sleepovers and trips to grandmas! Looking for a specific color combo? Just ask and we will tell you what colors we can get. Embroidery of name, monogram, or initials included in price. Additional embroidery extra.
Teacher Gifts $7
The school year is ending and the dreaded "What should we get the teacher?" rolls into view. Diviner Duds has got you covered. Try one of our handy drink sleeves. You can customize it with an initial, monogram, or saying. The one shown is actually for my (Stacy) twins' teacher. It says "Teaching Pre-K Requires Caffeine". I even chose a child font so that it looks more like kid's handwriting. I am going to wrap it around an empty coffee cup from St. Louis Bread Company and stick a gift card inside. What a perfect, usable gift!

Sun dressess, swim cover-ups, or shirts--smocking is it!
So it's finally happened, Lilly has run out of clothes and is getting into the "big girl" sizes her mom and I have dreaded. These days it's just getting creepier and creepier how short some of the dresses and skirts are getting. Somehow, the last few years, Lilly has managed to avoid this problem (probably a super-saavy shopping mom :)), but this year, the luck stopped and Stacy decided we were making the majority of Lilly's summer wear. This was just A-OK with me because 1) I'm all for long looks and 2) Bella gets Lilly's hand-me-downs!
As we were looking for long looks that could still keep Lilly looking moderately like her classmates, Stacy kept coming back to shirring. She had found tons of already shirred panels to get Lilly's wardrobe jump-started, and tons of videos teaching us how to shir ourselves. Turns out the process isn't all that tough, just one that involves some special elastic thread and a whole lot of patience. Double excitement: the look works for us, too!

Embroidery: Let's get personal!
There's just something special about personalizing an item. As a mom, I love seeing the name I picked placed on a special item. Sure the store sold the blanket to thousands, but my baby's is special because it has his name on it. When we started embroidering things, we learned quickly that personalizing was something that really made people happy. Whether it was a headband or a jacket, everyone loves seeing their name or the name of that little person they've been waiting to see. We've since explored the world of embroidery to incorporate personalized designs and even several cool expressions and designs. There seems to be no limit to the embroidery world!

Tu-Tus
Anyone who has a little girl will admit, at least at some point, that they love dressing them up. When Bella was just one year old, my (Wendy) sister-in-law got her a tu-tu for her birthday. It was punk-rock chic and looked very fun. She pulled it on all by herself and couldn't stop dancing in it. I LOVED it. Several months later my sister followed a tutorial on making tu-tus and had one for her daughter to use at dance. Stacy swore to me that it was super easy and that we should make some more for our girls. But when we finally started to try, I quickly realized those original tu-tus for what they were: a hot mess. Together we figured out a way to fix this: a sewn in waistband. Now our girls have tu-tus that provide fun without the mess, and we can provide the same to you!
